Working conditions of RTG crane
- The power source of RTG crane is three phase current, rated frequency is 50 HZ and nominal voltage is 300v.
- The operating ambient temperature is approximately -20 to 45 degree centigrade, and the maximum relative humidity is no less than 95 percent.
- When operating the RTG cranes, the wind speed is not more than 20 m/s, on the contrary, it is not more than 44 m/s when RTG cranes aren’t operated.
- The working grade of RTG crane is A6 and A7.
- RTG crane is suitable for spans of between five and eight containers wide, and for lifting height of 1 over 3 to 1 over 6 containers high.
- The surface slope of RTG crane is less than 1 percent, and local slope is not more than 3 percent.

Universal type RTG crane is important equipment in the container harbor. While for new style RTG crane, the main energy consumption is electric, and new style RTG crane is the light-weight equipment, the whole crane weight reduces approximately one third, which can save abundance of energy. So at present, scientists are beginning to research use electric to instead of the diesel.
